We are very lucky and proud to have instore this beautiful book for children and adult children alike. It is written and illustrated by Katrina Roxburgh of Ballpoint. We also stock a range of her cards featuring chickens, suitcases, children and an owl..

For the little people.

We got back from a wonderful weekend in Gore Bay to a pile of boxes on the backstep. I ripped into them with the gusto of Christmas morning and found lots of choice things for the kids in our lives. Check out these stickers from Sunday Morning. These frightening critters will stop any stealing between brothers and sisters ( probably not actually).
We also have NZ made and themed moa growers, alphabet charts and number charts. Beautiful handmade bibs with bamboo backing and super special balloon balls...soft and colourful handmade shells for balloons. We have oodles of handknits - hats, cardis, hoodies made from Italian wool, silk mittens, booties galore, bunting flags, soft Sunday Morning pillowcases and lovely nz bird and fish mobiles. And last but not least Melina Martin screen printed Owl and Pussycat and Cat and Fiddle pillows. Come and see all this clever local design and alert grandparents everywhere!

A Happy New Year from Flock

Happy New Year to you! Ours was spent snoring our heads off - the perfect start to the year for two knackered people. At home our New Year enthusiasm is directed at the garden (Emma) and crosshatching with ballpoint pens (Billy). This year at Flock we are focused on bringing more awesome NZ (and some Australian) craft, design and art talent out of the closet and into the street. We want to increase our range of clothing for boys and girls and also find more clever jewellery for you to goggle over. Also keep a look out for more drawing and printmaking instore. Right now, we are really enjoying some amazing ceramic design. The vases pictured are from Rachel Carter in Auckland. They are glossy and powdery at the same time and come in three sizes. Grannies and youngies alike are enjoying them at Flock.

We hope 2011 brings you much success and joy and nice still, solid ground (fellow Christchurch people).

Seasons Greetings

It is time! With the Christmas cards sent and the Christmas parties in full swing it is time to give our Seasons Greetings. We have the baubles (and holy sheep) up at Flock and the Christmas shopping has begun. We have alot of new stock instore, most of it is made right here and we also have a few special products from Australia including these gorgeous soft cotton pillowcases for the kids from Sunday Morning in Melbourne. They come in four designs featuring a rabbit (pictured), an owl, an elephant or a tree house. Come and get 'em.

Announcing that we now have local designs by Chalky Digits instore! Just for the ladies at the moment but we will also cater for the boys from Autumn. We love Chalky Digits because they are committed to using sustainable practices and materials and to keeping their production right here. You can't go past their Tractor Skirt (pictured)- surely a design classic in New Zealand and a personal favourite of Emma's. Wear it in the back country or on the High Street.
